How fast does husky hair grow
Join Date Jul Posts 1. Whoops I Shaved My Husky hey everyone, looks like i made a big mistake I realize now that i should have researched this decision before acting upon it, but we all make mistakes I am wondering now what i should do, obviously its gonna take some time to grow back, but approx how much time? Join Date Dec Posts 1, I would suggest seeing a professional groomer, Huskys coats are really not meant to be shaved, If you see a professional and see what they can advice you.
I agree, I think you should go to a groomer and get it fixed. If your dog is shedding maybe get a Furminator and when shes blowing her coat take her to the groomers for a wash, they will use a blow dryer that blows out all the undercoat which is usually the main reason for shedding.
She won't need more bathing just because of short hair. See ALL my pets here. We commonly shave huskies at work -- it's something alot of owners want. There is nothing wrong with it besides the fact that his undercoat provided him with insulation from the heat.
I want to give her fish oil but she gets the poops after a couple days. She also hasnt been eating her whole Sardines I think I'll try canned sardines next I wish the vet told me how much fur they were going to take off for a simple neutering.
I'm watching my boy's coat come in patchy, exactly how I knew it was going to come back in.. It can honestly be hit or miss with the coat growing back the way it was. Generally, it will not be the same color as a surgical shave is so close it really ruins the coat they took off. The coat may come back in as a different texture. I think with it being on the leg no guard hairs , it should return mostly back to normal.
IMHO hair on a husky can take quite a while to grow back, especially after a surgical shave. Would you like to react to this message? Create an account in a few clicks or log in to continue.

I haven't ever noticed any thinning of the tummy fur after my girls have been spayed. Seems more like, if anything, it all comes back thicker than ever, all over! Loki's belly and leg fur took about two months to fully grow back in.
You can actually shave a siberian except for the back and guard hairs. The belly and leg hair is all undercoat. Eika was spayed in April and her fur has pretty much grown fully back, it's a lot thicker than it was - but then i can't really remember what it was like! She'll be fine, by the time winter fully hits she'll have at least a small covering of fur to keep her warm!
Myshka's fur was back to normal within a month, you'd never know she'd been speyed now. I may be wrong, but please check. Blazes fur on the base of his tail he had to have shaved off has taken about two months to grow back and its still not fully yet.
She used to have beautiful black shiny guard hair on her back and now she is cream grayish. Anything I can do to regrow her hair back or we are out of options? She made it square and cut random chunks out. You can post now and register later. If you have an account, sign in now to post with your account. This often is due to some hormonal imbalance including thyroid deficiency.
And it occurs more often in some breeds. Some short haired dogs seem to have this happen more often. Its probably going to take 3 months for it to be evened up againat least. Unfortunately, with doublecoated breeds, it can take longer than that sometimes.. I have seen some grow back fast and normal in weeks, and some that still are obvious after 6 months. Shaving the coat of a Siberian Husky will permanently damage it as well as interfere with the shedding process.
